Top 100 Bad Hosts - 2010 Q2

As a test of its capabilites during BETA development, SiteVet has been providing HostExploit with data on the the world's worst hosts and networks. Security researchers at HostExploit release full quarterly reports on the findings. The latest 2010 Q2 report can be downloaded here.

The top 100 bad hosts at the date of the 2010 Q2 report are shown below; click each one for further details. Results for ASes not in the top 00 can be found by using the search feature.

For every host, a more detailed PDF report can be downloaded free of charge.

• Domain data includes: blacklist status and history, WHOIS history, full breakdown of malicious files and URLs, domain's involvement in specific activities (spam, phishing, exploits, RFI, botnets etc).
• Detailed statistics will be available on Autonomous Systems (servers) and IP ranges; this will be an amalgam of the collective data of domains and IPs in its range, plus advanced calculations which enable a customer to compare the relative badness of different hosting companies, and enable an informed decision on where to host your website.
• The embedded value of a domain will be shown - this will be a monetary value of the domain, based on its SEO and marketing potential.
• SiteVet is also intended for domain buyers who wish to find out if a site’s previous history is in-keeping with the industry it is to be used in. This will provide a guide to a site’s SEO advantages or disadvantages.
• Webmasters will be able to employ our fully compatible blocklists on their systems to provide another level of security protection against malware, malicious scripts, redirects and fake/rogue software downloads.

What will I get when I enter a domain search?

There are different levels for different purposes:

• Level 1: Free search that shows an overview of domain reputation and current blacklist status.
• Level 2: This requires registration to SiteVet. Entry of a domain name at this level will produce an in-depth result including historical information on previous usage of the selected domain name or IP address.
• Level 3: Paid report that shows extensive details - blacklist history, WHOIS history, IP and AS changes, specific infected files, specific exploit methods used.

Can I just check if a domain name has a known bad reputation?
